Finding a means to engage those who don’t watch sports is, in my opinion, the trickiest advice offered to aspiring sports journalists to follow at first. I believe that because you need to approach sports from a new angle in order to attempt and pique the attention of others. It matters how you respond because non-sports fans are interested in how you respond. For example, in the article it said “The Canadian Press played off excitement of something not so ordinary (three goals in six minutes) in a game against the Sharks and Stars.” He responded to something so routine with that, in my opinion, so it wouldn’t sound monotonous to the public and their fans.
