Journalists telling the truth

The ultimate motivation behind journalists mixing truth and fiction in their reporting has to be because sometimes they don’t have what they need to entertain the reader. Journalists would add a little bit of fiction because getting quotes and information is not always something they can always get to satisfy us. For example, in Matt Yoders article, it said “Still, there are times when we fall short. When that happens, we need to own it, correct it and alert readers as fast as possible.” In the other article, Mike Barnicle fabricated his writing, but he said his resignation was “the best thing for the paper.” The reason why I think he said that is because he never admitted to what he did. He later said that the story he fabricated, he received from a girl at another hospital but did not know her name.
